Curriculum Vitae ……the course of ones life

cv There is no right or wrong way of writing a CV, however follow our advice and yours will stand out from the crowd!

The purpose of a CV is purely to get someone interested enough to want to interview you and then during interview to act as a discussion point for you to expand upon.

Therefore this document must be positive, highlighting your strengths and sell YOU.

As a guideline your CV would normally take the following format:

Personal Details
Name.
A
ddress.
Contact details.

Profile
A sentence or two summarising you.

Education and professional qualifications
Include dates, name of school / college / university studied at and subject matter.

Skills
E.g.: Computer skills, people skills, management…

Employment History
Start with your current or most recent working backwards.
Include dates to and from, Company name, job title.
Then explain your duties.

References
Details of two employment referees, or personal if no previous employment

Your CV should be no longer than 2 – 3 pages, remember this is just a ‘snapshot’ of who you are.
